BATTLEGROUP...is a set of tabletop wargames rules for recreating the battles of World WarII, with 20mm or 15mm miniatures.
This is the core rulebook, detailing how to play the game, including such basic rules as Command and Control, Movement, Suppressing Fire, Aimed Firing and Morale.
COMMAND AND CONTROL
The rules use a system of Orders, putting difficult tactical decision-making at the centre of the game. Ineach game turn, commanders will have to make best use of their limited Orders.
FIRING
A unique 'two-tier'system for firing involves Suppressing Fire and Aimed Fire, in which pinning enemy units can be as important as destroying them. The enemy must be pinned down with Suppresing Fire, from machine guns, mortars and artillery, allowing your own forces better freedom of movement, to close in and finish the job. Pinning the enemy down is vital aspect of the game.
Here combined-arms warface is the aim, using all arms to their best effect to bring about victory.
MORALE
The innovative Battle Rating counters system means no two games will ever play the same and provide all games with a definate end point. One of the opposing Battlegroups will break and end the game.
Battle Rating adds an new, unpredictable level of excitement and drama to all Battlegroup games.
