Produktbeschreibung

War Machines kicks off with an article taken from the Which Warmek? Magazine, a Mek Design Primer. Interspersed with hacked files from 'Raven' that give valuable insights into the main Warmek manufacturers, this chapter walks you through the steps and decisions that must be taken when constructing a custom Mek, along with 'raw' game advice for players looking to design the ultimate fighting machine.

Extended rules for Warmek Workshops follows, allowing mercenary companies to create their own workshops or have a network that will allow them to repair their machines wherever they are in the field. There is also plenty of scope for Games Masters to insert freelance workshops into their campaigns, from manufacturer's own shops to those of the underworld that rely on the black market and unlicensed parts to keep Warmeks in the field.

Next up is a treatise on the History of the Warmek, studying its development in detail from the humble Tin Woodsman, as it was called, right through the Armageddon War and the cutting edge of technology that is now available.

The bulk of the book, however, is taken up by the main Warmek manufacturers and their latest machines for 2089 - and this is a high technology feast for players! First up is Aizahishi, with some very specialist machines - such as the Shinobi Intelligence Mek and Shikaze Anti-Air Mek fill in some critical gaps for many mercenary companies but be prepared to pay the price. . .

Egide hits back with the likes of the $60,000,000 Martyr Support Mek and the Sigfried Close Combat Mek, a joint venture with Volksmecha. Ipex's Cyclone Fast Assault Mek is a 100 ton machine that can keep up with many scout Meks, though assault jocks will be hankering after their Quake Heavy Assault Warmek with its assortment of howitzers, railguns and sophisticated computers. In keeping with the far-reaching designs of IPEX, the Starscream has been designed primarily as an Orbital Patrol Mek, something you will see a lot more of in the forthcoming supplement The High Frontier. . .

Staying with IPEX for one more model, the Vigilante Urban Security Warmek will be of only minor annoyance to many other Meks but it is just perfect for a Games master to pull out on the players when they are forced to leave their machines!

Moore Limited has been by no means idle in 2089 - the Defiler Biochemical Warfare Mek is the sort of machine that just makes you think 'ugh!' as it can drop a series of very nasty agents to clear out enemy forces from their positions. Flourine gas will be a strong favourite here! One of my favourite Meks of all though has to be the Gator Nuclear Assault Mek, designed to submerge itself in water to wait in ambush, backed up a good nuclear capability - and this for just $13,000,000! However, if you are looking for a budget Mek, you cannot get better than the Tak Industries Minimal Mek - a machine that manages to tip the scales at 64 tons but is delivered for a mere $1,200,000. Of course, don't expect much in the way of armour or its single 30mm Autocannon. But it is certainly the cheapest Mek around! Also from Tak is the Wave Slayer. Comms Meks are all well and good, but here is a dedicated Anti-Comms Mek. . .

As a departure from the huge machines from Royal Ordnance presented in the main rulebook, this supplement takes a look at their smaller designs the Foot Soldier, Raincloud and Trainer, built for Fire Support, Missile Support and Light Assault respectively.

This chapter winds up with Meks from Ultralite and Volksmecha with such machines as the Firefox Laser Assault Mek, Turbo Field Mek and the very functional-looking but very effective Feuersturm C-1 and C-2. These latter Meks are little more than heavily armoured turrets on legs but their combined weapons systems can be calibrated to fire within nanoseconds of each other, making a mockery of any active defence. Special mention should also be made of the 190 ton Volksmecha Gotterdammerung Nuclear Assault Warmek - this is a machine that will truly make you a God of War. . .

The last chapter covers two unique designs from a joint project developed by Aizahishi and Tak Industries - the Multi-Legged Weapons Platforms hinted at in the main rulebook. These are a brand new technology for the battlefields of the Armageddon War but, for those mercenary companies able to afford them, the Hokumo and Fuchikumo offer an unrivalled stability and weapons capability. These prototypes look functional to the extreme (and that is putting it mildly!) but just you wait until the wrinkles have been ironed out of this technology - the wave of the future? Only you guys, fighting in the Armageddon War can decide!

Over all, 44 new Mek designs are presented, along with an assortment of special rules, from all manufacturers - enough to keep even the most successful mercenary company happy for a long time! In addition, a full set of design rules for MLWPs is also included as an appendix to the custom mek construction rules in the main rulebook, allowing you to experiment with these new Meks yourself.
